Privacy Policy
We keep your data private, local-first, and only use what we need to run Tymtrack.
Overview
Tymtrack is built to be simple and privacy-first. By default, your time tracking data lives in your browser. If you opt into cloud sync, we store and process that data to provide multi-device access. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information We Collect
- Account information such as email address and authentication details when you sign up.
- Time tracking content including projects, sessions, notes, and tags you create.
- Usage and device data like browser type, IP address, and app interaction events for stability and analytics.
- Payment information handled by our payment processor (we do not store full card details).
- Advertising-related data such as ad impressions or engagement metrics when ads are shown.
Local-First Storage
If you use Tymtrack in offline or local mode, your projects and sessions are stored in your browser (localStorage). This data stays on your device unless you enable cloud sync, export it, or share it.
How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain Tymtrack, including saving your projects and sessions.
- Sync data across devices when you enable cloud sync.
- Process payments, subscriptions, and lifetime purchases.
- Improve product performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Show relevant in-app ads for free tiers.
Sharing & Service Providers
We share information only with trusted providers that help us operate Tymtrack. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
- Cloud sync and authentication (Firebase).
- Payments and billing (Stripe).
- Analytics and product insights (PostHog).
- Email updates and onboarding (Loops).

Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand usage, and deliver ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Data Retention
We retain account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, unless we must keep it for legal or accounting reasons. Local-only data stays in your browser until you delete it.
Your Choices & Rights
- Access, update, or delete your account information.
- Export your tracking data (lifetime plan includes export tooling).
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time.
- Disable analytics or cookies via your browser or in-app settings where available.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Tymtrack is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always posted here, and the "Last updated" date will reflect any changes.
